I specialise in the investigation and treatment of infertility, fertility preservation for cancer and personal choice, fibroids, endometriosis, uterine anomalies including uterine septum, tubal patency and surgery, miscarriage and implantation failures, polycystic ovaries, abnormal vaginal bleeding including heavy and irregular menstrual bleeding, and, pelvic pain. I am an expert in advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery having performed over 500 complex operations for management of various reproductive and general gynaecological conditions.

I graduated from Goa University, India in 1990 and trained as an obstetrician and gynaecologist thereafter. I was admitted as a member of the Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in 1999, following which, I undertook a research fellowship in Reproductive Medicine at the University of Edinburgh followed by a sub-specialty fellowship in Reproductive Medicine and Minimal Access Surgery at University College London Hospitals. I was accredited as a dual specialist in 2008.

I am widely published in the field of reproductive medicine and minimal access surgery and am actively involved in the training, examination and supervision of students and specialists.

Research

I completed a full-time research fellowship at the University of Edinburgh in 2003 and was awarded an MD in 2008. I have conducted/continue to conduct numerous trials as a principal/chief investigator. My current research interests include endometriosis, fibroids, uterine septum and other uterine anomalies, fallopian tube disorders, and, female infertility.

My involvement with commercial trials and industry has brought significant revenue to the trust and increased the number and choice of treatments available to patients.
